Growth in value of Scottish farmed shellfish.

UK: The 2011 total value, at first sale for all Scottish farmed shellfish species, was estimated at £9.8 million up from £8.3 million in 2010. However, mussel production decreased and several businesses ceased trading, according to a new industry survey. » Read more

Sølvtrans presents strong results

Norway: Sølvtrans reports a 20 percent increase in EBITDA in the first quarter of 2012 compared to first quarter last year. Operating income rose by 11 percent to NOK 59.5 million, while EBITDA increased from NOK 18.6 million to NOK 22.4 million. Pre-tax profit rose by 40 percent to NOK 5.1 million. » Read more

NRS present improved operational performance

Norway Royal Salmon (NRS) posted EBIT before fair value adjustments of MNOK 10.4 in the first quarter 2012. Despite 35 % lower market prices than in the corresponding quarter last year, the EBIT increased by MNOK 2.9, as a result of lower production cost and higher harvested volume. » Read more
